Your current reality is created by you
What you consider to be ‘reality’ is often just your perspective 🤯
There are many things that you consider to be facts that are actually beliefs and some of these are helpful for example: ‘ I’m smart I get things done,’ or ‘I’ve got a good network.’ These are useful beliefs that shape your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and will often lead to positive outcomes.
But you could also be carrying unhelpful beliefs that you’re allowing to mess with your outcomes, like: ‘the firm won’t do a promotion round this year,’ or ‘it’s disloyal to leave my role,’ or even ‘there’s no jobs out there right now.’
To the person thinking these thoughts, they are facts. They’re often not aware that there’s a different perspective, because these things are ‘so true’ to them that they don’t come up in day to day conversation.
Your reality is informed by their perspective. but you can edit and re-frame this.
Your first step is identifying what you believe and writing that down. That gives you an opportunity to choose a different belief. Known as ‘Neuro Linguistic Programming,’ NLP is about reframing our thoughts, feelings and behaviours to support the positive outcomes we want.
