Are you being a hypocrite?
Our own hypocrisy can get in the way of what we want. Or at least get in the way of what we SAY we want. What do I mean?
Lets say you're seeking to be in a work environment that is entrepreneurial, motivational and creative (or insert your own 3 words). Now, if you are 100% honest with yourself, how are you currently showing up in your work environment? Are you creating and sharing ideas? Proactively seeking out new collaborations?
I think you can see where I'm heading with the hypocrisy challenge. If we want to be in a certain environment, we have to take responsibility for our contribution to it. What energy are we bringing into that space? If it's not the same energy we want to be receiving then we're part of the problem.
When you demonstrate behaviors that are congruent with the type of person you want to be and the type of response and environment you want when you interact with others, you'll notice one of two things.
Either 1) you'll start to shift your environment. You'll see people notice the change, and where they have similar aspirations, they'll step up too.
Or 2) you'll realise you're in the wrong environment. But crucially, rather than noticing there's a gap because your energy is flat. You're noticing there's a gap because your energy is bigger and brighter than those around you. Here the action is to put yourself in different environments until you find your tribe of like-minded people.
So this week, Step 1 is to write down the behaviour you want to see in yourself and others.
Step 2 is to critically assess whether you're behaving this way or not.
Step it up and create the change you're seeking. Hit reply and let me know what you notice.
P.S. We say we want one thing, but sometimes our behaviour says something different. Challenging question this week - where in your life are you being a hypocrite?
P.P.S. There's 2 ways you can currently work with me: 1) a 2 hour breakthrough NLP session 2) a 4 session coaching programme over 2 months. All phone based. When you're ready, hit reply and we'll agree which approach best serves your goal.
