It's not the mountains ahead that wear you out...

…it's the pebble in your shoe", said Muhammad Ali.

We could interpret this a few different ways but today I want to talk about your environment

Is your environment helping you or hindering you?

In this case, Ali is making the point that it can be the small things that chip away at you. The big battles you face head on, it's the small ones that can wear you down.

Just like a pebble in your shoe.

Likewise, our environment where we work can chip away at us. At our concentration. Our productivity. Our focus. Even our wellbeing.

We ideally need to be in an environment that supports us to achieve our goals. So lets hit pause and take a look at ours this week.

Nowadays we have more options. Companies often let (or require) staff work from home, where we have a good level of control over the environment.

Here's some ideas for home:

- Write your goals somewhere visible - on your desk, on the wall etc

-
Buy in healthy snacks (*cough* need to break that biscuit habit)

Embrace the tech - use video calls vs. audio to connect with people

-
Desk plants! Bring the outside in, boost the oxygen in the room.

I hope this gets you thinking about ways to boost your focus and drive forward your career this week. Interested to hear what you've done to upgrade your environment.
