I expect you’ve already got a scenario in your head - something you need to decide.
Step 1: Ask yourself this ‘what’s the worst that could happen?’
This is a more powerful technique if you write down your answer vs. just thinking about it. It generally makes us feel better because the ‘worst’ isn’t usually that bad.
We’ve probably exaggerated it in our heads.
Step 2: Start finding solutions
Once you’ve got your short list of negative outcomes, deal with them one by one. If a worst case scenario happens what would you do? Come up with a plan before you begin. You now have a bit of reassurance and know you can deal with all the outcomes.
This gives us more confidence to make the decision and stick with it.
