You need these cartoons in your life -->

Have you heard of the Awkward Yeti comic strip? So good!!
They’re great cartoons, mainly of a heart and brain going about daily life. It's easy to see how the scenarios impact our working lives and careers.

I like them for a few reasons. Firstly, they make me smile! Secondly, I like that they show the division between what our heart wants and what our brain wants. And to ruin the punchline - they often want different things.
There’s not just a ‘you’, there’s parts of you that have different opinions. Your brain may not agree with your heart and vice versa.
I've picked out two of my favourites to share with you. One is a good reminder that it’s possible for your heart to take charge and tell your brain where to go.
And the other is a great illustration of how your brain works - zooming in on anything bad that’s happening, while your heart can point to lots of examples where things are going well in life.

So this week the call to action is to notice the difference - when is your heart talking vs. your mind? If you can tell the difference it’s so much easier to make ‘heart based’ decisions about your next career move.

Rather than battling back and forth in your head about what you should and shouldn’t do: what would feel good?
If you’re looking for a way to quiet your mind - putting it in a storage box is the equivalent to meditation. Park your thoughts and observe them quietly to see if your heart is going to pipe up. Your heart, or intuition, is usually the quieter voice.
Oh and if you’re on Instagram I recommend following @theawkwardyeti for more amusing cartoons :).
I'm interested to hear how you’re building awareness of the difference between your head and heart and what both are telling you.

P.S. Sometimes a picture says 1000 words - these cartoons are great examples!
