How to challenge people, well
It's possible to challenge people and for it to land well but it can require effort and skill to achieve this.
Change your environment to change your mind
Time goes by, and then...the niggling voice comes back. It says "what's the next thing? You could be doing more". And let's be honest, the voice is tiring. I can't say I greet it fondly when it returns to my life. Pushing me again. But it's definitely better than sleepwalking through life in old patterns.
Take a closer look at what you're resisting
If you're resisting something, it's a big flashing neon sign that it's important to you. Because why bother resisting something we don't really care about? That we aren't really invested in?
These two biases are messing with your decisions
In short, we have natural biases that impact our decision making. Being aware of them means we can wrestle back some control from our social and psychological programming to help us achieve the best outcomes.
Taking Control
I want to talk about Cause & Effect. Because when you're 'at Cause', you are in control. When we're struggling with our roles, or feeling trapped, or uncertain what next step to take, we can fall into the 'Effect' stage.
I can tell what you're thinking...
I expect you've heard before that most of our communication is via body language and tone of voice, with words only accounting for c7% of our impact. I have seen this from a new perspective this week. I've been on an NLP course (neuro linguistic programming)and qualified as a practitioner to add to my coaching tool kit to support my clients.
